Fitted Pictures If you would like a picture fitted in to your stick then please select whether you want one of our pictures or choose to supply your own (on the right) and then go to the relevant page and select the stick type. We have several stock photo's that we can use - or you can choose to send us your own photo or other image. We can copy and resize your image using digital technology so any picture you supply will not be used itself and can be returned to you if necessary. Having your own picture copied costs only an additional £5 (on top of the standard £10 charge) |
Pictures already in our stock include: Fox, Red Grouse, Cock Pheasant, Hen Pheasant, B/W Border Collie, Border Terrier, L/W and B/W Springer Spaniel, Yellow or Black Labrador, L/W Borzoi, Westie, Grey Lurcher.

Only certain types of stick are suitable for the fitting of pictures, click the link to go to the page you want: Regency or Stag horn Walking stick For the DIY Stickmakers, we can also fit pictures into handle blanks and antler pieces for you to finish off yourselves. Look at the DIY pages and select your blank after choosing the picture you want.

How do we use your photo? Here's a typical photo of three dogs - the subject for the picture stick is the one in the middle.
First we crop the picture on the computer to leave just the head of the subject. Your own picture is not cut or used in the stick at all so you can have it back!
Then we resize it to fit in the stick, print it on special paper and treat it so the liquid resin won't damage it. The picture is fitted into a hole drilled in the stick handle and the liquid resin is poured in and left for 24 hours to set. The resin is then filed and sanded to shape and polished to a clear, glass-like finish:

Please note: Having a picture fitted may delay your stick being delivered by a few days or several weeks. It is not always possible to fit a picture to a stick already in stock so we will normally make the stick and fit the picture during the process of making the stick. Images must be as clear as possible if you want us to use your own. Some cropping of the picture is normal so that it will fit the space available on the stick. |
