Keith Pickering produces exquisite hand-made walking sticks which are both decorative and functional. Birds, fish and animals are the usual subjects, hand carved in native hardwoods, mounted on finest hazel shanks cut from the ancient woodlands around Helmsley in North Yorkshire. Dogs, cats and horses are a speciality, carved and painted in the likeness of your own favourite animal (send photos). Thumbsticks, hiking sticks and plain walking sticks are kept in stock or made to order. Note: The sticks are individually hand-crafted - they are not the cheap plastic-handle versions that you can buy for £10 ($15) at the supermarket! |

Keith has made several sticks for film, TV and theatrical productions. The most famous is the 'magical' walking stick in the film "Nanny McPhee", starring Emma Thompson. Click
here to see more about the making of the
stick.
Sticks have also been made for the TV shows "Emmerdale" and "Heartbeat". Silver and brass collars available, engraved with your choice of letters or words. Brass and rubber ferrules supplied with sticks. Your height is not a problem - sticks are made to measure! Won't
fit in your suitcase? |
